Jan. 30, 2003 -- Derek Taner, who has helped run the
Franklin Strategic Srs:Global Health Care/A (FKGHX) since last year, has
been named lead manager, succeeding Evan McCullough, who continues as a
member of the team that oversees the $101-million fund.
McCullough, who has been with the fund since 1994, relinquished the lead
role to spend more time on the Franklin Biotechnology Discovery Fund/A (FBDIX)
that he also runs, a spokeswoman for Franklin Templeton funds said.
The fund company also said Matthew Willey joined Rupert Johnson,
Franklin's chief executive, as a co-manager of the Global Health Care Fund.
Willey previously was a health care analyst with the fund complex.
