Planning Pioneer Lynn Hopewell Dies
Leader of the profession passes away
Lynn Hopewell, the distinguished financial planning pioneer and former chairman of The Monitor Group in Fairfax, Virginia, who had a fascinating life and career within and without the planning profession, passed away on March 28, 2006. An engineer who worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for years, Hopewell had an MBA from the Harvard Business School and taught at George Washington University before becoming a planner. He served as editor of the Journal of Financial Planning and on the CFP Board of Governors. Viewings will be held on April 7 at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, Virginia. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8 in Warrenton at St. James Church, where he twice served as senior warden.
