Advanced Equities Financial Corp. launched Venture Gateway (www.venturegateway.com), a Web portal that connects institutional and other high-net-worth investors with late-stage private equity opportunities. The portal is made up of a detailed data room for each company. Potential investors can conduct due diligence on each investment. The site will enable Advanced Equities to broaden its outreach to approximately 100,000 high-net-worth individuals with assets in excess of $30 million while at the same time allowing the firm to establish a more efficient way to communicate deals to the 4,000 accredited investors who in 2007 helped Advanced Equities raise over $500 million in late-stage venture capital...

Pershing LLC has added American Funds, JennisonDryden, OppenheimerFunds, and Van Eck Global to FundVest, Pershing's no-transaction-fee mutual fund platform, which has 2,700 mutual funds managed by more than 180 fund companies...

Direxion Funds has launched the Dollar Bull 2.5x Fund for those bullish on the U.S. dollar. The Fund seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, of 250% of the price performance of the U.S. Dollar Index, which indicates the general international value of the U.S. dollar, by averaging the exchange rates of the dollar and six major world currencies, including: the euro, yen, pound, canadian dollar, krona, and franc. The fund will create net long and net short positions, will use financial instruments such as foreign currency debt instruments, forward contracts, futures contracts, and swap agreements, and may also hold U.S. government securities.
