Australian baby boomers are out-drinking their teenage children, with figures revealing parents are drinking more than 20 drinks a week. Okay, but c'mon, this is Australia we're talking about.
According to The Daily Telegraph, while teens have long been considered the most likely to binge drink, the latest study - released today - shows adults are Australia's biggest offenders.
Reporting on a study released by GlaxoSmithKline, the paper says almost 10 percent of people aged between 55 and 64 had 20 or more standard drinks in a week, compared with 8 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds. Alarmingly, the GSK Health Index confirmed young people were being introduced to alcohol. Nearly 11 percent of young adults were under the age of 12 when they first had alcohol.
