Taking the "I" Out of Team
Tony Purpero's enthusiasm for the team advice concept is apparent in his voice when talks about his experiences at Partnervest; the benefits to the client of having a true disciplinary approach are abundantly clear to him. "Coming here I was able to find professionals in different fields and share those responsibilities with those people and really form a team. I had never had that before. When you work with a Smith Barney or a Merrill Lynch and you put a so-called team together, most times that team is a duplication of yourself, over and over again. Everybody else is a financial advisor, or a CFP, or whatever, but for the most part they have the same financial background as you do."
