While unemployment rates rise, boomers appear to be the only ones doing anything about it. Never mind that the jobless rate for boomers has doubled since the recession's start - according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of boomers actively looking for work is unchanged, while every other group declined, the New York Times reports.
Boomers who are eager to work should focus on the short term, data suggests. Temporary work added 34,000 jobs in October; the only other sector to show an increase was health care.
