Empty nest or bed and breakfast?

Nearly two-thirds of boomer women say they have an adult child living at home. Of those adult children, nearly half have brought their offspring with them. A recent survey from VibrantNation.com found that instead of battling empty-nest blues, many boomer women are "running multi-generational boarding houses."

And the kids aren't exactly warming Mom's cockles. Nearly 40 percent of boomer moms said the relationship has been strained or "greatly worsened" by their child's return. Over 70 percent say that living in a multi-generational household has made it harder for them to achieve their own goals.
