Phillips Hinch, Financial Planning Association
As Assistant Director of Government Relations at the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) Washington, D.C. office, Phillips Hinch is responsible for all tax and retirement issues at both the federal and state levels of government. He is also heavily involved with the Financial Planning Coalition and FPA’s grassroots efforts.
Phillips joined FPA in July 2008. He has over 10 years experience in government relations work, including working for the Tax Staff of the House Ways and Means Committee and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. As a lobbyist, Phillips has worked on issues such as estate taxes, the alternative minimum tax, independent contractor status, and state sales taxes, among others.
Phillips has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a M.S. Taxation from American University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Virginia.
