The U.S. Senate is scheduled to hold a cloture vote on Monday on the Obama-GOP compromise tax and unemployment insurance bill. The Senate is likely to approve the bill itself on Dec. 14.

The Senate began to debate on Thursday evening the $898 billion bipartisan tax cut bill that was introduced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., earlier in the day.
